In general, each bone present in the spine is known as a disc. Discs will cushion your bones and iact a shock absorber. Slipped discs can occur at any part of the body along the spine, especially in the neck region. But mostly it tends to occur in lower back region. For treating the slipped disc problem, discectomy is the commonly used surgery. During this surgery, the disc portion which has been causing the nerve root pressure will be permanently removed. In certain situations, the complete disc may also be removed. Via an incision, the surgeon will access the disc in your neck or back.
